Throughout the ages, metal has been determined as a male-dominated genre - which could not be farther from the truth. Women (of color especially) have been a major influence on both the metal genre and all in general; the only reason why this isn't as well-known is because of the fact that female artists haven't been given the amount of popularity as male artists have - especially in the metal and punk genres.
